What can I do or read for FREE on CecilDaily.com?
All visitors to the website can see full events and classifieds. They can also read articles or special e-Editions that do not have the little key icon next to their headline or title.
All visitors can sign up for a website user account. Anyone can sign up to receive our newsletters by email.
With a website user account, you can contribute events to the online calendar, as well as news and photos. You can also comment on articles.
What does the little key icon next to the headlines or e-Edition titles mean?
The little key icon indicates that a subscription is needed to read the article or view the e-Edition.
I have a subscription, but I can't read all the articles or the e-Edition - why?
Have you logged in to the website? If you have, your screen name will show up in the upper right corner, instead of the Sign Up and Log In buttons.
If you have a subscription that you purchased over the phone, in person or by mail, please add your online access: Click "Log In" and then choose the option "Already a subscriber? Click here to get online access to your account!" If you do not know your subscription account number, please call Subscriber and Delivery Services at 443-941-9073.
I just purchased a subscription through the Self Service Center, but I still can't read all the articles or e-Edition - why?
Please confirm your subscription purchase by going to the email account associated with your subscription. After your subscription purchase, a "Subscriber New Start Confirmation" email was sent to your subscription email address. It may have landed in your Inbox, Spam or Junk folders. Please open the email and click the "Activate Subscription" link.
If you do not see your access on CecilDaily.com change immediately, logging out and back in to CecilDaily.com may help your device's internet browser display your change in access.

Why do I have to sign in every time I come back to the website?
Internet browser cookies may be disabled on your device. You will need to enable browser cookies for our website in order to stay logged in.
The following is an overview of how the supported browsers (the latest versions of Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer on PC, and Safari on Mac) retain login credentials for our website.
Please keep in mind that retention of your login credentials happens in the browser on your computer or device. The configuration of individual browsers, and their extensions, add-ons, plugins, private browsing, etc can cause a wide range of browser behavior when it comes to staying signed on (or not) to any one website.
Browsers can store your credentials to CecilDaily.com either with a limited, built-in password 'manager', or by accepting login cookies from our website.
The built-in password 'manager', if enabled in the browser settings, usually will prompt you with a question when you log on to a site for the first time, such as "Do you want [browser name] to save your login information to https://cecildaily.com?" If you choose "Save Password", the browser will store it. If you choose "Never for this site" and you change your mind later, you will need to go into the settings and remove the site from the list of sites the browser will never to remember the password for. After that, the prompt should appear again and you can choose "Save Password".
Accepting the login cookies from our website starts with checking the "Keep me logged in" box while signing in.
Please note that "bookmarking" the site, or "adding to favorites", usually only retains the website name, not the login credentials.
I no longer receive the e-Newsletter. How can I get it again?
The e-Newsletter may be going to your spam / junk email folder. Please check there.
Add email@example.com to your email service's list of approved senders. Depending on your email service, you may find this feature in the email settings.
If all else fails, you can try this "Sign up again" form: https://www.cecildaily.com/newsletters/sign_up_again/
