Letters to the Editor

Dear Fellow Citizens,

Thank you for the opportunity to serve as your councilwoman for the past three years. It has been a privilege to represent you.

As a lifelong conservative Republican, I have always been politically engaged. In 2009, I became concerned about the direction of our country and decided that the best way to enact positive change was right in my own back yard. That year, I co-founded the Cecil County Patriots. Its mission has been to encourage civic involvement and to promote a fiscally conservative, constitutionally-limited government at all levels.

I attended public meetings, became more informed about issues facing our local government, worked on campaigns for Republicans at the local, state, and federal levels, and advocated for responsible spending, property rights, and local autonomy.

When I decided to run for county council in 2016, I promised to continue to stand for the same principles I stood for as a citizen. Since being in office, I have kept my commitment to you by supporting infrastructure development and job creation, advocating for responsible spending, voting against all tax increases, and defending property rights. I have worked to increase the accountability of government and have been responsive to citizens’ concerns.

As a middle class working mom, I represent the average citizen of Cecil County. I know how to live within a budget, prioritize spending, and make sure I receive maximum value for every dollar spent. I remain firmly committed to the idea that government officials should respect your hard earned dollar enough to operate the same way. I also want Cecil County to be a place my kids will want to call home once they are grown, which is why I believe our County must focus on pursuing sensible economic growth that does not thoughtlessly sacrifice the very irreplaceable qualities of Cecil County that inspire people to want to live here in the first place.

As your councilwoman, I will continue to support upgrades for our aging roads, education, public safety, and will continue to hold government accountable for responsible spending.

With me as your representative, you will know you have a conservative voice on the council and someone who will be responsive to your concerns.

Because of my proven conservative record, work ethic, commitment, and experience, I respectfully ask for your support in the Republican primary on Tuesday, April 28, 2020.
