Letters to the Editor

In the current budget proposal, County Executive Alan McCarthy has given the county schools another $2.4 million of your money. The school system has an overpaid bureaucracy running it, questionable spending (remember the state audit that showed the school administration wasting somewhere around $10 million and the school board vote to spend $2 million on a field house instead of school security?), poor education results and reserve funds that are about twice those of the rest of the county.

This proposed increase is an insult to the hard-working taxpayers.
