ELKTON — Margareta Widen Harris, 83, of Elkton, MD, passed away at home on Tuesday, May 23, 2023. Born in Yonkers, NY on October 10, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Eric, Sr., and Eleanora Carola Widen.
Margareta retired from Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Delaware, where she was a claims processor. She was known for helping her family and friends sort out their healthcare insurance options to get the most benefits.
Margareta was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She devoted herself to her family and was the happiest when surrounded by them.
Survivors include her children, Michele Harrington, Connie Colosimo (James), both of Elkton, MD, Kevin Harris (Rebecca), Newark, DE; grandchildren, Eric Harrington (Chelsea Chinn), Justin Harrington (Tara), Elkton, MD, Kristina Klingbeil (Andrew), Wilmington, DE, Kyle Colosimo, Elkton, MD, and Grace, Anna and Brett Harris, Newark, DE; and great-grandchildren, Bryan and Mackenzie Harrington, Elkton, MD, Ava and Aiden Klingbeil, Wilmington, DE; and nephews, Carl Widen and Mark Widen, both of Georgetown, DE
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Harris was preceded in death by her brother, Eric Widen, Jr., and Matt Sexton.
Celebration of life will be held at 11 A.M, Wednesday, May 31, 2023, at Hicks Home for Funerals, 103 W. Stockton Street, Elkton, MD, with visitation beginning at 10 A.M. Private interment will be in Gilpin Manor Memorial Park.
