MAGNOLIA, Del. — Delaware State Police report that a North East man has been identified as the victim of a Feb. 24 crash.
On Monday, DSP announced that Edward Campbell, 78, died as a result of the crash at Bay Road near Trap Shooter Road around 7:25 p.m. when the Chrysler minivan he was driving crossed the grass median and struck an oncoming Mercedes GKL. Both vehicles caught fire but Good Samaritans on the scene were able to get the driver and a passenger of the Mercedes out safely. One of two dogs in the Mercedes perished in the crash.
Delaware State Police Troop 3 Accident Reconstruction is still investigating and asks anyone who may have witnessed this to contact them through the Delaware State Police Facebook Messenger or by calling Delaware Crime Stoppers at 1-800-847-3333.
