Motorcycle accident

LEEDS — Cecil County Sheriff's deputies are trying to determine what caused a motorcycle to crash Friday afternoon, killing its driver.

Just after 5:20 p.m. Friday evening, deputies and emergency medical personnel were called to Starr Route Road in the Leeds community near Elkton to a report that a motorcyclist had wrecked, said Lt. Michael Holmes, CCSO spokesman.

"The motorcycle was traveling westbound on Starr Route Road and the vehicle lost control, crossed the center line on a curve and struck a utility pole," Holmes said.

As of Saturday morning, the the driver of the 2009 Harley Davidson had not been identified, pending notification of next of kin.
