Low-cost, local events happening this week. To be included, your event must be family friendly and take place in Cecil County as well as adjoining areas within a 20-minute drive. Please submit the event title, time and address in the body of an email to accent@cecilwhig.com at least a week before. Once approved by an editor, the event will be listed until its completion date. LIGHTS FOR LIBERTY, 7:30 to 9 p.m., Meadow Park, Elkton. The Cecil County Democrat Club is hosting Lights for Liberty as a local action of a national event. On Friday, July 12, 2019, "Lights for Liberty: A Vigil to End Human Concentration Camps," will bring thousands of people to locations worldwide as well as to concentration camps across country, into the streets and into their own front yards, to protest the inhumane conditions faced by refugees.

Ms. Pippidis will describe how to can salsa safely in a boiling water bath. She'll share the tools and recipes needed to can. On July 20, 1969, Neil Armstrong, along with his crewmates, made history by leaving a footprint on our moon. Presenter Eric Mease will examine the history, people, air and spacecraft, completion, politics, and tragedies surrounding this historic event.
