Low-cost, local events happening this week. To be included, your event must be family friendly and take place in Cecil County as well as adjoining areas within a 20-minute drive. Please submit the event title, time and address in the body of an email to accent@cecilwhig.com at least a week before. Once approved by an editor, the event will be listed until its completion date. The Cecil County Department of Public Works, Stormwater Management Division is hosting their 10th Annual Cecil County Wade-In at Charlestown’s Foot Log Park Beach. Pull up your pant legs and wade into the Upper Chesapeake Bay to measure water quality the way retired Maryland State Senator Bernie Fowler did 31 years ago using the “sneaker index”. Park at Charlestown Elementary School and ride a free shuttle by Cecil County Transit to the event site. Live music, food truck, live animal demonstration by the MD Department of Natural Resources and Plumpton Park Zoo, drone demonstration by the Cecil County Sheriff’s Department, 22 exhibitors on site! This is a fun, family friendly event. Free T-shirts while supplies last.
