Graduation stock

Over 650 students graduated from York College of Pennsylvania on May 18, including Christopher Farrow, of Earleville, who graduated with a Bachelor of Business Admin in marketing; Hannah Horsey of Elkton, who graduated with a Bachelor of Science in accounting; Michaela Naughton of Elkton, who graduated with a Bachelor of Science in radiography; John Scoffone of North East, who graduated with a Bachelor of Science in finance; and Melissa Way of Conowingo, who graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in history.

Rodney Scott Fisher Jr., of Earleville, graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in sociology from McDaniel College on May 25. Select graduating seniors also received academic, activity and leadership awards at the Senior Investiture and Honors Convocation on May 24. Fisher Jr. was the recipient of The Vox Magna Clara (A Strong Clear Voice) Award.

Kristen Barrick Lehr, of Elkton, earned a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction from McDaniel College.

Sixty-three students received master’s or doctoral degrees during Shepherd University’s 146th Commencement on May 11, including Paige Elizabeth Buckworth, of Elkton.

Nicole Dzamko, of Havre de Grace, earned a Master of Business Administration from Quinnipiac University during ceremonies held in May.

Matthew Tress, of Conowingo, was among the graduate and undergraduate students recognized at Frostburg State University’s Honors Convocation in May. Tress, who received departmental honors in materials engineering, has been a standout in completing the Collaborative Engineering Program at Cecil College. He possesses the three components of a great engineer: intelligence, character and leadership. Tress has shown these traits in completing the materials engineering concentration, all while working the graveyard shift at his job, going straight to class from work, and since summer 2018, working as an intern at ZS Technologies in New Castle, Del. He stepped up as his capstone team’s leader this past semester, completing the work with the highest degree of professionalism.

Jenna Skeen, of Elkton, was also among the graduate and undergraduate students recognized at Frostburg State University’s Honors Convocation in May. Skeen received honors in general education.
