Picking up where he left off from the lecture he gave last year, Mr. Jimmy Pierce will be returning to the Maritime Museum to present an engaging talk on the Havre de Grace of yore.

A long-time Havre de Grace resident and storyteller, he vividly recalls to us the rich history of Havre de Grace. From brothels, speakeasies, bookie joints, and canneries to the museums and antique shops, Jimmy tells it as he saw it.

We're lucky to have Jimmy as a regular volunteer in our Boat Shop, where he frequently imparts sage advice on the building and restoration of wooden boats. He always seems to have a story of local history up his sleeve, and we’ve asked him to share a few of these stories with a wider audience, rather than just us guys in the shop.
