Winston Robinson, a former Democratic candidate for county executive who lost in a three-way primary race, is County Executive Tari Moore’s appointee as the new county director of finance.
Moore announced the decision late Wednesday after conducting a lengthy interview process with several candidates.
Robinson is a former employee of the Cecil County Treasurer’s Office and has 35 years of experience in accounting and auditing positions.
For the last six years, Robinson has served as the senior financial officer for the city of Wilmington, Del., where he has full responsibility for developing and presenting the city’s certified annual financial report.
He is a 1971 graduate of Ohio Wesleyan University and also attended a year of graduate study at Ohio University. He’s a certified public accountant in the state of Delaware.
His appointment is subject to confirmation by the county council.
