CENTREVILLE — The ninth annual Cash Bash by the Goodwill Volunteer Fire Company has been postponed to Saturday, Oct. 3.
The big fundraiser the volunteers always draws a big crowd, and has become the fire company's major fundraiser for the year.
Like so many other events and projects around the town and county, the problems associated with the nationwide virus has curtailed many things because crowds are not to exceed 10 people.
The Cash Bash tickets are being sold by fire company members with $10,000 as the top prize, and cash awards given every 2 1/2 minutes during the day from noon to 6 p.m. There is also free food and beverages all day long.
Purchase of one ticket allows you to bring another person, but others will cost $30 each.
The spring chicken barbecue fundraiser scheduled for May 27 also has been canceled.
The next two regularly scheduled fire department breakfasts, April 19 and May 17, have both been canceled.
