Deputies with the county sheriff’s office reportedly captured a man wanted by police in both Elkton and Ohio on Thursday.
County sheriff’s office spokesman Lt. Bernard Chiominto said deputies arrested 39-year-old Elkton resident John Insley at a home in the 200 bock of Cherry Hill Road about 4:30 a.m.
Chiominto said police in Newark, Ohio issued a warrant for Insley in connection with a first-degree rape there.
Following his arrest, deputies learned that Elkton police also wanted Insley, said Chiominto, who added that he did not know why the local bench warrant had been issued.
Deputies later turned Insley over to the Elkton Police Department, which could not be reached for comment over the weekend.
Insley currently is being held on no bond at the Cecil County Detention Center, Chiominto said.
