Low-cost, local events happening this week. To be included, your event must be family friendly, cost less than $25 per person and take place in Cecil County as well as adjoining areas within a 20-minute drive. Please submit the event title, time, address and the cost per person online at cecildaily.com.

Once approved by an editor, the event will be listed on Cecildaily.com until its completion date. It will run in the print edition as space allows.


VINTAGE DOLL SALE, Union Hospital Gift shop will be having a sale of vintage dolls dated fro 1970-1990. This includes dolls from Ashton Drake Galleries, Geogetown Collections and Designer Guild. Hours are from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. For more info call the Gift shop at union Hospital 410-398-4000.

CANCER TASK FORCE, 12 p.m. at Cecil County Health Department Auditorium, 401 Bow Street, Elkton. The Cancer Task Force works as part of the Cecil County Community Health Advisory Committete to raise awareness of cancer-related issues, increase the rate of screenings for common cancers and provide resources for people affected by the disease. QUARTER AUCTION, doors open at 6 p.m., games start at 7 p.m. at Susquehanna American Legion Post 135, 300 Cherry St., Perryville. $2 per paddle, 3 for $5. Call 410-642-2561.

PERRYVILLE FARMERS’ MARKET, every Friday until Oct. 25 from 3 to 7 p.m. Local produce, mushrooms, honey, hot and fresh homemade potato chips (MADE WHILE YOU WAIT!!), candles, and homemade scented soaps. Broad St. and Roundhouse Road in downtown Perryville.

FREE LUNCH, Free lunch every Friday from 12 to 1 p.m. at Elkton Presybyterian Church, 209 E. Main St. provided by Elkton Community Kitchen. All are welcome.

BASKET AND BAG BINGO, The Port Deposit Heritage Corporation will sponsor their annual fundraiser, a Basket and Bag Bingo at the Port Deposit VFW Post 8185, 520 Susquehanna River Road. The doors will open at 5:30 p.m. and the games will begin at 7:00 p.m. The ticket price of $12 per person includes paper cards for 20 games and a chance on the door prizes. All prizes, including the door prizes, will be Longaberger or Vera Bradley products. All proceeds will benefit the Port Deposit Heritage Corporation and will be used for their education, restoration, and preservation projects including their operation of the Paw Paw Museum located at 98 N.
